Addis Ababa (ENA) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on Sunday held discussion with Japanese Foreign Minister, Taro Kono over a range of bilateral, regional and global issues of mutual concerns.
During the discussion, Premier Abiy acknowledged Japan’s contribution to Ethiopia as a development partner and shared his interest for continued cooperation in capacity building, trade and investments.
Japanese Foreign Minister, Taro Kono, who is Addis Ababa for two days official state visit, expressed the support of Japanese Government to Ethiopia’s reforms and efforts to bring peace in the region.
He extended Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s invitation for Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed to visit Japan.
Taro Kono’s visit aimed at strengthening cooperation on business initiatives with African countries, it was indicated.
Foreign Minister Kono is also scheduled to travel South Sudan and Angola to meet with the leaders of the respective countries.
