Khartoum – President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al Bashir returned to the country yesterday after a visit to Turkey at the invitation of his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan to participate in the opening ceremony of Istanbul International Airport in its first phase, which is one of the largest airports in the world and witnessed by a number of heads of state and ministers.
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Al-Dirdiri Mohamed Ahmed described, in statements at the airport, the visit as successful and that it achieved its objectives, during which it was agreed on the agenda of the upcoming visits of officials of the two countries, including the visit of the Turkish Vice President to Sudan in December
“The visit was an opportunity for presidents Al Bashir and Erdogan to discuss bilateral relations and the most important events in the future of the course of cooperation relations between the two countries,” Al-Dirdiri said, adding that the two presidents reviewed the projects agreed upon between Khartoum and Ankara and its implementation
The President of the Republic was received on arrival at Khartoum Airport by FVP, First Lieutenant General Bakri Hassan Saleh, and a number of ministers and officials of the State
