Past incident

In February, a 49 year old man in Kasangati in Wakiso District reportedly committed suicide accusing his wife of having extra marital relationships.

Abdul Mayanja, who was a resident of Kiwalimo village in Kasangati town ended his life after he found his second wife’s home under lock and key suspecting that she had gone to meet another man like he had previously been briefed by a friend.

Mr Owoyesigyire then said Mayanja got a rumour that his wife had been cheating on him and rushed there to prove the allegations. He reached the home and tried to inquire from neighbours and he was told his wife had left the home hours back.

Police said the deceased opened the house and removed dry cells from a television remote, crushed them before he mixed them in water and drunk the poisonous liquid. – Daily Monitor
