Addis Ababa – Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn, who is on an official visit to Qatar, has held discussion today with Ethiopians residing in the country.
During the discussion, the Premier acknowledged the contribution the diaspora made to the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) and called on them to continue supporting the dam, according Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Hailemariam said the government will provide all the necessary support for the Ethiopian community in Qatar.
He reportedly informed the diaspora that peace is restored in areas where conflicts had occurred and the government is working along with the people to create stability in those parts of the country.
According to the Premier, Ethiopia’s economy has been growing annually by 10.9 percent on average.
The diaspora on their part thanked the government for the effort it had exerted to take Ethiopians living in Saudi Arabia back to their homeland.
Appreciating the country’s economic growth, they asked the Prime Minister to support the community to open a community school in Qatar, it was learned.
